Your journey starts here

Your 5 step implant journey

Consultation

During your initial consultation, your dentist will assess your mouth, gums and bone structure, taking an X-ray of the area where the tooth (or teeth) is missing.

Treatment plan

Your dentist will explain your treatment plan. At this stage we can also talk to you about available finance options, to help you spread the cost.

Day of surgery

Don’t worry if you’re nervous! You’ll be able to choose from various sedation options. Your bespoke, temporary teeth will be created by our experts on the same day as surgery.

Healing process

Once implanted, it’s important to give the bone and gum around the implant time to heal, before it can be used to support a new tooth.

Final placement

Once your implant is integrated with the bone, your dentist is able to restore it with replacement teeth.

Are full mouth dental implants right for me?

Dental implants are revolutionary tooth replacements designed to look, feel, and function like your natural teeth. At the core is a small titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone, acting as an artificial root. Once healed, it supports a realistic crown, bridge, or denture. This process, known as osseointegration, ensures stability and prevents bone loss that occurs with traditional options like dentures.

See our Implant Dentists walk you through the Ark Dental Implant Experience. With the expertise of our multidisciplinary team and cutting-edge technology, we provide advanced solutions, including complex procedures like extensive bone grafting.

Dental Implants FAQs

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are replacements for worn, decaying, painful and missing teeth. The implant is a titanium screw that is inserted through the gum, anchoring into your jaw bone. An abutment is inserted into the implant. The abutment protrudes out of the gum and provides an attachment point for a wide range of crowns, implant bridges and overdentures. Single implants use individual crowns to replace specific teeth.
Dental implant bridges and overdentures do not need an implant for each tooth being replaced. Instead these can be secured on a smaller number of implants meaning less surgery for the same result. For example a full arch of teeth can be secured on just 4 implants. This is commonly called all-on-4 dental implants.

What are single tooth implants?

A single tooth implant replaces a single or missing tooth with a new ceramic replacement. The implant is secured through your gum into your jaw bone. An abutment is secured into the implant providing a base for the crown to be attached. Crowns are tailored to match your natural teeth and help strengthen your jaw giving you a natural smile. The entire process takes just a few hours.

What are multiple tooth implants?

Multiple tooth implants replace a row of teeth with a dental implant bridge. This can mean using fewer implants than the number of teeth being replaced. The implants are secured through your gum into your jaw bone. Abutments are secured into the implant providing anchor points for the bridge to be attached. The dental implant bridge is tailored to match your natural teeth with the implants helping to strengthen your jaw giving you a natural smile. The initial process takes just a few hours to fit your temporary bridge. After your gums have healed your final custom implant bridge will be fitted and adjusted before your final fitting.

What are full mouth dental implants?

Full mouth dental implants replace your entire upper and/or lower set of teeth with an over-denture. This means using fewer implants than the number of teeth being replaced. The implants are secured through your gum into your jaw bone. Abutments are secured into the implant providing anchor points for the over-denture to be attached. The over-denture is tailored to match your natural teeth with the implants helping to strengthen your jaw giving you a natural smile. The initial surgery and fitting of your temporary overdenture is completed in just 1 day. After your gums have healed your final custom overdenture will be fitted and adjusted before your final fitting.

What is smile in a day?

Smile in a day is the name given to full mouth dental implants surgery. At the end of your procedure, you will have a temporary set of dental implants secured to your jaw. This allows your gums and jaw to fully heal before your final implant arch can be fitted.

What is teeth in a day?

Teeth in a day is the name given to whole mouth dental implants surgery. At the end of your procedure, you will have a temporary set of dental implants secured to your jaw. This allows your gums and jaw to fully heal before your final implant arch can be fitted.

How much does a single tooth implants cost?

Single tooth dental implants cost from £2,400 per implant.

What affects the cost of dental implants?

The cost of dental implants can be affected by the number of teeth requiring implantation, the condition of your teeth, gums and jaw, the type of bridge/over denture and time needed to complete the procedure.

Are dental implants painful?

There is usually some pain involved in the dental implant procedure. Generally, the post surgery recovery process is between 7 and 10 days. Pain can be managed by over-the-counter pain relief.

How long will dental implants last?

Although dental implants can last 20 to 30 years, their longevity largely depends on proper care, maintenance, and a good oral hygiene routine.

How is it done in one day?

All records, discussions and designs are finalised pre-surgery. On the day of your surgery, your teeth will be removed and your implants will be placed. The design will be adpated to the position of the implants.

How much are dental implants?

Dental implants start from £2400 for a single tooth.

How do I know if I need crowns or dental implants?

Implants are typically used to replace missing teeth or those too severely damaged for other treatments. Crowns, on the other hand, are used to cover teeth that are discolored, decayed, chipped, or cracked, but still have a healthy root.
