How does the clear aligners treatment process work?
Our orthodontic expert captures impressions and photos of your teeth. With this data, a digital plan is crafted to illustrate the gradual movement of your teeth during treatment. Tailored aligners exert precise pressure at each stage. Once crafted, you can commence treatment promptly, with continuous monitoring by your dentist throughout the process.
Are Clear Aligners painful?
As the alignment progresses gradually, discomfort is minimal. While some may feel tenderness, particularly when transitioning to a new aligner, severe pain is rare. To minimise discomfort, it’s advised to wear the aligners consistently throughout the day, removing them only for eating. This approach not only reduces the likelihood of pain but also enhances the effectiveness of the treatment. Rest assured, we’re here to assist if any issues arise.
How often do I have to wear my clear aligners?
For optimal results, you should wear your clear aligners for 20-22 hours daily. Remove them only for eating, drinking (except water), and brushing your teeth. Can I eat and drink as normal with my clear aligners in?
You should always remove your clear aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water, as food and beverages (even soft drinks) can damage or stain them. This practice preserves the integrity of your invisible aligners and supports effective teeth alignment throughout your treatment.
Can I just wear my aligners at night?
Wearing clear aligners only at night will not provide the necessary tooth movement for a straighter smile. For best results, wear them for 20-22 hours per day. Night-only wear, such as with night braces, may significantly delay or prevent achieving your desired teeth alignment. Our team will guide you on proper wear to avoid setbacks.
How long do I have to wear my retainers after the aligners?
After completing your clear aligner treatment, your teeth’s supporting bones need time to stabilise. Without retainers, your teeth may shift back to their original position.
