Teeth Whitening: FAQs
Lumiwhite is great at improving the shade of teeth that have become discoloured or stained for a variety of reasons, including natural ageing and dietary factors.
The system can also improve staining from tetracycline (commonly used to help treat gum problems), fluorosis and calcific metamorphosis.
The treatment is NOT suitable for those under the age of 18, those who are pregnant or who are breastfeeding, and those who are not deemed suitable on assessment by the dentist (for reasons due to the condition of their oral health or unrealistic expectations).
The treatment is not suitable for whitening veneers, fillings, crowns or dentures.
Lumiwhite teeth whitening is extremely safe and is subject to stringent regulations (Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013).
Professional-grade teeth whitening treatment must be carried out under the supervision of dentists (such as those here at Ark Dentistry) who have been passed as safe to use regulated whitening products by an independent safety assessor.
The treatment is designed for the results to last as long as possible. These can be maintained on an on-going basis by top-up treatment. Many patients find that top-up use for one night every two months enables them to maintain a B1 shade.
Your dentist will be happy to advise on top-up treatments for your individual case.
Our whitening treatment is professional-grade and is significantly superior to non-professional alternatives like blue-light treatment and whitening toothpastes.
These contain only very small amounts of Hydrogen Peroxide (if any at all), whereas Lumiwhite contains the maximum safest, regulated amount of 6%.
