Smile specialists expert care focused on beautiful, natural results
Teeth whitening is a process that removes stains from your teeth caused by ageing, smoking and eating coloured foods that can stain your teeth including red wine, black coffee and tomato based sauces on foods. Whitening can not make teeth brilliant white, instead it can lighten your teeth by up to 6 shades.Β
The treatment is designed for the results to last as long as possible. These can be maintained on an on-going basis by top-up treatment. Many patients find that top-up use for one night every two months enables them to maintain a B1 shade.
Your dentist will be happy to advise on top-up treatments for your individual case.
Lumiwhite is highly effective at improving the shade of teeth that have become discoloured or stained for a variety of reasons, including natural ageing and dietary factors.
The system can also improve staining caused by tetracycline (commonly used to treat gum problems), fluorosis, and calcific metamorphosis.
The treatment is not suitable for individuals under the age of 18 or for those deemed unsuitable following assessment by a dentist (for example, due to the condition of their oral health or unrealistic expectations).
The treatment is not suitable for whitening veneers, fillings, crowns, or dentures.
Lumiwhite teeth whitening is extremely safe and is subject to stringent regulations (Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013).
Professional-grade teeth whitening treatment must be carried out under the supervision of a dentist (such as those here at Ark Dentistry) who has been certified as competent to use regulated whitening products by an independent safety assessor.
Professional teeth whitening treatments can only be provided by a GDC-registered dentist, or by a dental hygienist or dental therapist working to a dentistβs prescription.
This is because the strength of whitening gels used in professional treatments cannot be legally purchased over the counter without appropriate clinical supervision.
It is illegal for high street salons to provide dental-grade teeth whitening treatments if no registered dental professional is present and responsible for the treatment.
Our teeth whitening treatment is professional-grade and is significantly superior to non-professional alternatives like blue-light treatment and whitening toothpastes.
These contain only very small amounts of Hydrogen Peroxide (if any at all), whereas Lumiwhite contains the maximum safest, regulated amount of 6%.
