Root canal treatment, is a dental procedure used to treat infection or damage within the pulp (the innermost part) of a tooth.
The treatment involves removing the infected or damaged pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, and then filling and sealing them to prevent further infection. This procedure helps save a tooth that might otherwise need to be extracted due to severe decay, trauma, or infection.
At Ark Dentistry we ensure comfort, using advanced techniques to restore the tooth’s function and health.
For more information see our FAQs.
We are offering high quality dentistry at affordable prices, all our root canal treatments prices are competitively priced in comparison to other dental practises near Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and Doncaster.

Your endodontist evaluates your tooth pain through a thorough root canal examination, including digital X-rays to detect infected pulp, abscesses, or nerve damage, and discusses your root canal symptoms.
A detailed root canal plan is created, including preparation instructions, root canal anesthesia options (local or sedation), step-by-step procedure explanation, and post-root canal expectations.
The root canal procedure is performed with precision, using advanced rotary tools, microscopic endodontics, and gentle techniques to remove infected pulp, clean root canals.
Post-root canal, you’ll receive detailed root canal recovery instructions, follow-up appointments for crown placement, and ongoing support to monitor healing, restore tooth strength, and maintain long-term root canal success.
Affordable
A root canal can take away the toothache caused by infection/inflammation inside the tooth, letting you get back to living comfortably.
Stop Infection from Spreading
By carefully removing the infected pulp, it not only clears the problem tooth but protects the surrounding teeth and gums from more damage.
Save your Natural Smile
Instead of losing a tooth, root canal treatment preserves your tooth, natural bite, function, and appearance.
Relieve pain quickly
Compared to having a tooth replaced with a bridge or implant it is often more affordable and simpler in the long run.

Deep within each tooth lies a chamber and root canal, a space housing living tissue known as pulp. Often termed the ‘nerve’, it’s a delicate network of tissue fibres, nerves, and blood vessels safeguarded by tooth enamel. When a cavity reaches the pulp due to size or tooth damage, bacteria infiltration occurs, leading to untreatable infections. Root canal treatment becomes essential to thoroughly eliminate bacteria from the tooth canal.
Root canal treatment aims to eliminate bacteria within the tooth, disinfecting root canals. This involves creating a small access point, locating and measuring the canals, and meticulously cleaning and widening them with fine lines. After this cleansing process, the canals are filled to prevent re-infection and facilitate healing, often resolving abscesses.
After the root canal treatment, you might experience slight discomfort, typically brief and mild. Immediate relief from pre-existing pain may not occur, as swelling in the ligament around the affected tooth, caused by bacteria, might persist. Although the root canal clears the tooth’s interior, the ligament may require time for the swelling to subside and the pain to diminish.
The duration of root canal treatment varies based on factors such as the procedure’s complexity, the specific tooth involved, and individual circumstances. Additionally, a follow-up appointment may be advised by your endodontist, with details provided during your consultation or after the root canal procedure at Ark Dentistry.
The anaesthetic can take a short time to wear off after your treatment. Avoid hot drinks and all food during this time. Once the anaesthetic has worn off, your toothache should have gone. However, you may still experience some tenderness or sensitivity for a while. Keep your mouth clean following treatment. Rinse your mouth often to remove debris and prevent issues around the treatment site
